Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think

The author of Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think, Brian Wansink is a food psychologist (which I did not know existed until I read this book).  His observations as to how serving portions have increased (larger plates, cups and utensils) and how food retailers have been effective at persuading us to eat more, allowed me to shed a little of the blame I held when I was overweight.

This book will help the reader identify mindless eating habits such as stressful situations, watching television, driving and other activities where we aren’t focused on what’s going into our mouths.  The author’s credibility is built upon the studies he has conducted as well as other research which assures the reader this is not a book that will no longer be useful.  In fact, I have read this book twice to reinforce positive habits.

Mindless Eating is a quick and essential read for anyone who wants to focus on improving his relationship with food.
